Guifei chicken isn’t a dish that is found commonly in Singapore. Unlike Hainanese chicken, it is cooked in a pot of brine infused with herbs and rose wine. And Chu Huang Hong Kong Royal Chicken (廚皇香港貴妃雞) at People’s Park Centre does this perfectly. The meat is juicy, tender and flavourful with the right amount of fat.
So let’s just say this was easily one of our meals where the monkies needed no invitation to finish everything. Just swipe to see all of the empty plates. 😅 Oh, and the char siew is heavenly btw - a definite MUST-ORDER. My personal faves were the Super Crispy Black Tofu and the Super Crispy Pork Chop. And prices are pretty reasonable too - a plate of Guifei chicken rice/noodles/horfun is $4.50 while a whole chicken is $30 ($16 for half).
